It's been a busy twelve months here at ForrestBrown, and as we approach our first birthday we're delighted to announce that Lisa-Marie Smith, our first member of staff, has been promoted to Director.

Lisa began her tax career at Bristol’s RSM Tenon, before joining Gregg Latchams, where she qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser.  In 2012 Lisa joined Veale Wasbrough Vizards’ corporate tax department where she qualified as a Solicitor and advised entrepreneurial clients on all areas of taxation.   Lisa specialised in corporate tax planning, including EIS and SEIS investments and EMI share option plans, which all dovetail nicely with R&D tax credits for high growth innovative businesses.

Since joining ForrestBrown, Lisa has played a fundamental role in driving our growth, helping to deliver over £7 million worth of tax savings for our clients in less than twelve months. Lisa always has a can-do attitude, and it’s rare to meet anybody that’s able to seamlessly juggle so many tasks at once. Her boundless energy, attention to detail and work ethic has made her an integral part of the ForrestBrown team.

MD Simon Brown commented, “Lisa’s a highly skilled R&D tax specialist, but it’s her commitment to our clients that has shone through from the very beginning, she’s incredibly passionate about what we do, and that was apparent from the outset. As we’ve grown Lisa has effortlessly come to assume more and more responsibility, and I have nothing but faith in her abilities to continue to drive the business forward as Director”.
