The Employer Brand Management Awards were established to recognise excellence in creating and managing employer brands. They look beyond HR metrics and instead reward the care and creativity that goes into the best employer brands.
Although we’ve won many awards over the past few years, our entry into the EBMAs was a new arena for us. Last year we put a huge amount of energy into defining and communicating our employer brand. We were keen to be appraised by experts in this field and see how we measured up. The competition was stiff and featured many leading global brands including RBS and Accenture.

ForrestBrown has always been a different type of employer. From the start, the team have helped shape a culture that brings a refreshing informal style to the traditional work of tax advisers. We were confident that it would create something special. And it did.
Since day one, we have grown rapidly. We are constantly looking for high-calibre candidates to join our winning team. And last year, we reached a stage where we felt we needed to shout about what life is like at ForrestBrown – from the rooftops.
ForrestBrown-ers apply technical excellence to everything we do, and our marketing is no different. Our marketing and talent teams worked with Hodes – a specialist employer branding agency – to understand, tweak and articulate the natural employer brand we had already fostered. Our desired outcome was to create the tools we’d need to take our recruitment to the next level.
Winner of best digital communication of the employer brand
Taking the limelight in our digital communications is our new careers website. Providing us with a platform to talk directly to our recruitment market, we were delighted with its playful, relaxed feel. The judges agreed that it had attractive visuals and well-constructed video. They described it as an:

ForrestBrown wins best employer brand management from the professional services sector
This award was particularly special because it pitches us against established companies in our sector. These are employers we are directly competing with for the best tax talent.
We overcame a challenge from global professional services giant, EY. This saw ForrestBrown crowned winner of the best employer brand management award in the professional services sector.
We may be relatively small, but we are on a journey to somewhere special. We punch above our weight and offer an employee proposition that competes with, and even surpasses, the heavyweights in our sector.
Winner of best creative execution of the employer brand
Best creative execution of the employer brand was one of the two most prestigious awards given out on the night. On a national stage, it aptly demonstrates the technical excellence that underpins everything we do at ForrestBrown.
We’ve been lucky to win many awards for our tax work and client service. This award highlights that the quality of our marketing is of an equally award-winning standard. The judges praised the authenticity and creativity of the campaign. One of the judges even proclaimed:
