Grant: Scaling-up Semiconductor Manufacturing – CR&D
Business: Semiconductor SME
Earlier this year, ForrestBrown supported a semiconductor SME with a feasibility study and formal application for the Scaling-up Semiconductor Manufacturing – CR&D grant opportunity.
The client had come to us having identified the opportunity but lacking dedicated resource and time. It first needed to identify whether the grant was a feasible option; and second, to complete the application within four weeks of the closure date.
Our work commenced with a workshop to set out the grant application process and timeline for the key stakeholders. It was important to establish the position of the project and confirm the information currently held. Working with the company, we were able to quickly identify that the project would be eligible for the grant.
Guiding the client through the formal application documentation at the outset was key as we then used this as the foundation to devise a strategy for delivering the application within the time frame. Aligning our process to the application, we identified and agreed clear milestones, with actions and responsible individuals.
Weekly meetings were held to track progress and provide an update to key stakeholders on the development of the application and the supporting appendices. Throughout this time, our team prepared multiple iterations of the application, incorporating stakeholder feedback where appropriate, while ensuring best practices were followed during application drafting.
Once the application was complete, ForrestBrown guided the client through the online submission process via the Innovation Funding Service portal, ensuring that the deadline was met.
