Successfully navigating an enquiry
Despite receiving the credit for several years, in 2022, HMRC opened a compliance check. ForrestBrown’s specialist enquiry support team took on the correspondence with HMRC, advised PiP of its options and successfully resolved the enquiry – as well as securing costs from HMRC.
ForrestBrown has always been supportive through the claim process and was especially so during the enquiry. They are daunting as a CEO. Tax relief is in jeopardy and you can’t predict the outcome. I felt confident that we were putting our best foot forward and never had any doubt as to the veracity or reliability of the claim.
The team had mitigated risk and that proved to be the case when HMRC conceded and recognised that we were conducting valid R&D.
