Katy Long CTA CA, ForrestBrown’s lead for established SMEs and large businesses, has been promoted to Director. This reflects her technical excellence, leadership and contribution to the firm’s continued growth.
Katy joined ForrestBrown in 2019 after beginning her career with a Big Four firm and in that time has been instrumental in helping businesses to navigate the evolving R&D tax landscape, including the introduction of the additional information form and claim notification.
Day-to-day, Katy oversees more than 40 tax specialists delivering expert R&D tax relief advice to established SMEs and major corporates. Alongside her client portfolio, Katy leads ForrestBrown’s policy work and is a respected technical authority in the R&D tax sector. She has authored the R&D tax relief chapter of Tolley’s Tax Planning for the past two years and sat on the CBI’s Innovation Tax Working Group, shaping policy discussions on R&D tax relief reform.
