Chris is a chartered tax adviser (CTA) with more than a decade of experience, including at the Big Four. Chris is a leader in the tax team at ForrestBrown and his expertise has helped hundreds of companies to grow and thrive.
He qualified as a chartered tax adviser whilst at KPMG where he specialised in life and Lloyd’s insurance, advising global insurance companies such as Zurich on their tax position in the UK. Chris landed the role after earning a master’s in economics and finance at the University of Bristol.
After six years with KPMG, Chris made the switch to ForrestBrown. He now focuses on helping innovative companies to benefit from the transformative power of R&D tax reliefs, as well as working with large and complex organisations to support in-house finance teams. With his understanding of the insurance world, Chris takes a particular interest in fintech and financial services more broadly.
In a recent case, Chris worked with a client to refile an incorrect claim put together by an accountancy firm which had mishandled the client’s grant position. Chris supported the client through the HMRC enquiry process, resulting in a robust claim with a greater benefit for the client.
Being an ultra-marathon runner helps to give Chris the mindset to break big goals down into manageable chunks and deliver them for our clients. He is a natural communicator and is passionate about forging lasting partnerships.
